AI Power Up: How AI Can Enhance Your Affiliate Marketing Results

Hi – and Welcome to the Smart Affiliate Marketing Podcast.

My name is Paul, and in this episode called “AI Power-Up”, we’re going to look at enhancing your affiliate marketing efforts with AI tools, speeding up your journey to success!

We’re going to look at how AI can help you in your affiliate marketing journey.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the last few years, you will have heard the term AI being bandied about quite often. It has a growing role in various industries, including affiliate marketing.

As affiliate marketers, we’re able to use AI to streamline tasks, improve efficiency and boost our affiliate marketing results.

First of all, we’re going to look at how we can use AI for research and content creation.

We can use AI to research content, topic ideas and keyword research. My preferred tools for these roles are Google Gemini and Chat GPT. Google Gemini tends to have an edge, at the moment, anyway, over Chat GPT in terms of research, probably because it is a Google tool and therefore has access to more online information. My belief is that it understands current trends and popular topics far better than Chat GPT, but I do tend to use the two tools in conjunction with each other for the best possible results.

Personally, I’ve downloaded the Chat GPT app and I have it on my phone so it’s available at all times, and it’s a very handy tool to have, not just for affiliate marketing either!

There is a paid or free version. Now, the free version will probably give you everything you need, but if you feel you want the extra, then you can pay.

Google Gemini is totally free, and I do find this a very useful tool, and highly encourage you to use it.

Between the two, you can analyze trends, you can find topics and areas of discussion, you can find ideas for blog posts, for example, and videos. You can even structure courses using AI tools.

For example, you could ask your AI host “Give me 10 topics I can blog post about in the health and wellness niche”, and straight away, you’ll have 10 ideas that you can use to begin your content creation. Not all 10 are suitable, so simply ask for another 20, and you can create a short list of the ones you wish to go with.

Then once you have a list of titles, you can use AI to give you an overview of what you should include within your content. You can even ask it to write your content in total, but I don’t like to publish anything from AI which is not given the human touch.

So using AI, you need to have a job as an editor and not rely too much on AI, because it won’t be including your personality into your blog post, for example. So whilst it can spit out content very fast, it won’t be building the audience engagement that you’re looking for.

However, it’s very useful to spit out things like content outlines, product descriptions, blog post introductions, and you can even draft your entire articles. But again, I highly recommend a human editing process is carried out afterwards, to give it that human touch and to help it resonate with your audience.

You can also use AI tools for market research and competitor analysis, using it to analyze competitor content, identify audience demographics and to uncover marketing trends to inform your strategy within your niche.

Now let’s look at using AI for visual content creation. There are many tools out there that can generate images, graphics and even videos simply based on a keyword and description.

However, the output does tend to require some tweaking. Your original prompt may not give you 100% what you’re looking for. So you may have to tweak the prompt a number of times to achieve the desired goal.

That said, once you have achieved the desired goal, you can use it within your marketing, on your blog posts, on your website and so on. Videos tend to be more haphazard, and the ones I have tried creating have not been suitable for use without so much editing that it kind of outweighs the benefit of time saving, because you have to edit it so much that it becomes inefficient.

However, these video tools are improving constantly, and you may indeed know of a tool now that does the job very well.

There are many tools available to create images. Microsoft Bing has a free version, although the features are limited. Chat GPT can create images using Dall-E by Open AI. There is mid-journey, art, breeder, stable diffusion, deep art and many, many more.

It’s simply a case of trying a few out, finding the one you are most pleased with the results, and going from there. Again, you will find you do need to tweak your prompts as you go along, and it’s very rare that you’ve the perfect picture on the initial attempt.

Other visuals that can be created by AI are things like charts, graphs, infographics and so on, which can be used to display data in a very convenient format and using AI to create such things will save you a huge amount of time.

They can be very popular with your target audience for the simple reason you’re providing a lot of information within one image, making it easy for them to assimilate.

You can also use AI to personalize product recommendations for your target audience based on their browsing history and past purchases. For example, Google Gemini will be able to indicate trends within your niche and help you select products accordingly.

AI can also help you streamline many other tasks, such as AI can personalize your email marketing campaigns with targeted product recommendations and offers based on subscriber data.

By using these prompts, you can help to highly target your emails to your target audience using AI.

AI platforms can be used to schedule your social media. It can even create the posts, optimize them, schedule them, and even generate automated responses to comments and messages.

And for your website, AI can be used to create a customer service chat bot, and basically, the more information you load into it, the better it’s able to help your potential customers.

Basically, people coming to your site will have questions that they could ask the chat bot.

So the more questions you’re able to answer using the chat bot, the more satisfaction you’re going to drive and the more time you’re going to save of your own in answering questions afresh.

So ideally, when you set up your chat bot, initially, you would take all frequently asked questions and provide answers to them within the chat bot, which would in turn negate the need for customers to come through to you via email, because they can get an answer on the chat bot, thus saving you time and effort.

So essentially, AI can be used for research, content creation, images, video content streamlining, tasks and many other things that I haven’t even touched on today.

However, I always recommend staying true to yourself and making sure your content is human-like, so that your ideal audience will resonate with you and it builds your reputation of trust, helps people to come to know and like you. If people feel that it’s produced by a bot, they won’t warm to you.

Another thing to realize is that the way you improve relationships with people offline in your general day to day activities such as being friendly and perhaps creating jokes, AI won’t necessarily be doing these things. So this is something you would need to add to your content in order to apply the human touch, so please use AI, but make sure you are a great human editor before you publish this content.

For all of the areas I’ve discussed today, I suggest you search, research, test and try many of the tools yourself, until you find the ones you’re happiest with. Personally, I like the ones which are either free or there’s a one-off cost at the outset, I don’t really like paying high monthly fees for these tools, because we need so many of them. I recommend “free” or “freemium” products, and the tools I mainly use within my affiliate marketing are Google, Gemini, Chat GPT, I do have a paid subscription with Canva, although there is a free option available, just find the free option is not generous enough for my needs. But Canva has a whole suite of tools which is ever expanding, which include AI, and I just find it very suitable for my needs.

I will put a link in the podcast notes to all of these tools and many more, so that you can test a few out and find the ones which are suitable to you.

Possibly you’re already using AI, but you could still do a fresh search and see if there’s any tools out there that you’re not currently using that may potentially be an improvement on the ones that you are.

I may be showing my age a bit here, but when I started out in affiliate marketing, it was really hard to get lots of images. Then along came a site called fiverr.com where you could find freelancers to create your images for you. However, this did take time, money, and again, you could ask for an image and it would come back and it wouldn’t be what you’re looking for, so you would have to further explain what you’re looking for and have them tweak the image.

So there was a lot of toing and froing, and it did take a lot of time and effort to procure the image you were looking for.

Now, with AI, you can produce images so much faster, and it does make our lives so much easier.
